DEF is an urbanism and architecture firm founded in Rio de Janeiro in 1986. Tasked with evolving its brand and creating a new website, the main challenge was to develop a symbol representing DEF’s nearly 40-year history. The concept of Pragmatic Creativity?building creative solutions that are also practical?guided the project. The resulting design features a modular graphic system centered around the letter “D,” which serves as a symbol and includes an animated element that reflects the brand’s depth. This approach earned DEF’s website the Site of the Day award from Awwwards.
